When we first moved into our Water St. apartment the previous (and horribly dirty) tenants had a low rack of lockers that they used for a coffee table/shelf. I thought it looked awesome.

Oh how I love these colors: the bright yellow, medium and light blue, with touches of orange... Though those Lucite Queen Anne chairs make me want to puke a bit.

Charcoal grey cabinets... (See, Dave, I'm not the only who likes them). And notice the apron sink with the metal front. Also cool: the butcher's block counter, the plank ceiling, and the tile floor (travertine?).

1. Love the giant checkered floors. Classic kitchen tiles.
2. Beautiful crown molding. It's is giant, but the scale works with such a large room and that fact that it's paint color matched the wall.
3. Shaker style cabinets.
4. Amazing windows. These would be a little harder to get...

I like so many things in this picture.
1. The table and chairs are so handsome and clean looking. They are a little masculine, but graceful enough to balance it.
2. The fridge in the background. It's the opposite of the last fridge I talked about (the cabin like one), but lovely. I love that it's not one of those giant Sub Zero fridges, but this cute skinny ice box.

I like how these floors are rough hewn and wide.

Gorgeous fridge. It reminds me of the cabin. And it would definitely add a homey and warm feeling to a kitchen. Do they make these more energy efficient?

I love this old wooden work table in the kitchen.

I love this porch- it is the perfect width. I want one where you can have one person sitting in a porch rocker and have enough room for someone else to sit on the railing in front of them. Or wide enough to dance. That's nice, too.

I love these vintage ovens. I could deal with them not being what most would call "accurate," I'm kind of use to that anyway. They are so awesome looking.

I am loving white kitchen cabinets with black counter tops lately. Sharp.

All right Dave, this marble I like. The grey and white in a lighter kitchen is great.

Love the wood island. And that they didn't do the wood island and stained wood cabinets. It keeps the kitchen from looking really masculine and cold.

First off, love the cabinets- the white paint with the black knobs, the Shaker style, and especially the fake crown molding. Instead of normal crown they have a simple thin board and tiny little corbels.

Second, we like the feet on the bottom cupboards. It removes a few inches of storage, but the visual weight is much lighter than ceiling to floor cupboards. If you painted the toe kick black and then cut the feet in half then they would look deep but wouldn't be such a pain to sweep.

This trim and batten looks great. It's a great Craftsmen style that would mix in a non-Craftsmen house.

This is such a bold choice for th paint color on these cabinets, but it works so well since all the things inside are lighter in color. My future vintage trophy collection would look great here.

Good addition in the fact that they did not try to match the original, but added on in a style that complimented. Here are two strong exterior finishes that don't compete, but don't match either.
Blah, blah, blah, Backstreet Boys.

I love the black shutters on both the brick and the clapboard. Also loving the windows on the brick- the white panes with the rounded window head.

This is to remind Dave to build this someday when we have a garage or something.

I love the idea of the sliding door. Though since we are leaning more towards Country/Industrial/Nautical/Vintage I think resalvaged stall doors or something would look awesome. The only problem with these doors is that everywhere that door slides will be really hard to decorate- you can't really hang anything. Ooh, unless there was built in bookshelves or something cool like that.

Here's that herringbone pattern again. I love it. Especially with the ebony stained wood. But it bothers me in the back left room where the herringbone pattern changes into a vertical wider plank. I think you need to pick one pattern for an area that does not cross over to another pattern without carpet or something to break them up.

Dave, what do you think about using this textured glass on kitchen cupboards? I've never really liked glass lined cupboards, but I think this striping looks pretty cool...

I love the idea of the nook bed. This would be perfect in a kid's room (especially one where kids were sharing a room- you still have a little personal space). And if they don't make their bed all is well, they can just cover the nook with their drapery.

This would be great in my future art studio. A little inspiration board of goodness.
